Emma Watson seeks source of alleged topless photo

Emma Watson's upcoming film, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1,' opens Nov. 19.
Immersing herself in American culture has been an exciting venture for "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson. However, her college experience at Brown University may have hit a bump thanks to a recent nude photo scandal.

Topless photos of the 20-year-old actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the successful film franchise, are making the rounds among students via e-mail, according to the Daily Mail.

The photos in question allegedly show the actress wearing only a towel around her waist standing next to a hot tub.

"Emma is trying to seek out the source so she can put a stop to it," a friend told the paper. "She says the picture has been faked."

A rep for Watson also added, "There have been a number of nude fakes over the past two months. Emma has seen them and finds them tiresome. People should know better."

News of the alleged photos comes days after Watson gave an interview in the December issue of Marie Claire in which she calls her friends at Brown "protective" of her.

"I found a great group of girlfriends... Brown has a real sense of community, and people are very protective of me," she told the mag. "They really look out for me; they want me to feel like I'm part of it.

Coincidently, Watson gushed over the security she feels among her classmates and the photos she takes with them.

"I threw my 20th birthday party at Brown, and I didn't even have to say to anyone not to put pictures on Facebook. Not a single picture went up," she added. "That was when I knew I'd found a solid group of friends, and I felt like I belonged."
