Actor with Award
A black-and-white silent film about old Hollywood made a lot of noise and struck a lot of gold Sunday night at the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
"The Artist" won Best Picture and scored Jean Dujardin the Best Actor Oscar and Michel Hazanavicius Best Director.
"I love your country," Dujardin said, holding up his award for his portrayal of fictional silent-film star George Valentin.
"If George Valentin could speak, he’d say, "Formidable! Merci beaucoup," he said, using French words for "terrific" and "thank you very much."
